I have a 1996 Discovery and the cruise control suddenly went out on my last trip. I found a burned out brake bulb on the rear and thought sure when I replaced it, that would solve my cruise control problem. But it didn't.
My Extarder works fine and it is turned off but the cruise control still doesn't work. I can't find a fuse label in either the front or rear fuse panel that is marked "Cruise Control." But surely (I know ... don't call you Shirley) there's a fuse. Does anyone know it's location? 1996 Fleetwood Discovery on a Freightliner chassis with a Cummins B5.9 mechanical pushing me down the highway.

I'm only going to bump this back up once because I don't want to overstay my welcome with you fine folks. All I'm really looking for is a suggestion on where the cruise control fuse might be located. It's possible that 1996 Bounders and other 1996 Fleetwood units with a B5.9 Cummins in a Freightliner chassis may have the same cruise control fuse location. Thanks for looking at me one more time and stay warm out there.
My cruise was acting in strange ways. I ended up replacing the brake light switch located near the brake pedal, and all was well again. Very inexpensive fix. Good luck, HarveyP
I'm going to try and keep everyone up to date just in case someone else has a cruise control problem like mine. I did contact FCCC and they informed me there is no fuse for my cruise control. I find that hard to believe but who am I to question the folks who made my chassis?
I did find out that I have a King Controls cruise control and I've asked them for assistance. They do have an excellent Web site and I downloaded a troubleshooting chart for a turn signal arm mounted cruise control. I will follow their guidance and try to pin my problem down.
And I will post my results here. Happy 2011 to all the fine members here. I really appreciate your expertise and knowledge.
