Dark Water Mark
I have a mark that appears from time to time. Some times when it rains some times not. Some times outside some times inside. The water is not from the weep hole as that is right of the dark mark. Trying to figure out where it is coming from. Not seeing any water inside, soft wall etc. It seems to all ways be dark brown. It is coming from under the window from the way it looks.
Thanks
John

John,
Have you had heavy rain during the stain? Could be from rust, dirt within the window frame. How does the glass seal and frame seals look? What about the caulking around the outside window frame? Is the window sill drain holes blocked?
Just trying to help. Never seen that before...
John

Hopefully will solve this weekend
John, I think you might be on to something with the frame. The color indicates to me that water is getting into the frame then draining out. But the question is how. Im not thinking it is a leak on the roof, but not ruled out yet. I'm thinking the seal around the frame is bad and water is getting behind the frame. I will be giving her a spring cleaning on Sat and will see if I can solve this mystery.
Thanks
John

John,
Another thought...could be from roof mounted AC unit though I doubt it. I would think you would see the water stain above the window. I'm surprised no one else has commented on this.
Good Luck
John

With it being "Some times outside some times inside" I would think water is getting into the frame. Should be philips screws around the inside of the window frame - you can tighten/snug them up a little - don't over tighten them.
Another idea - if there are any protrusions (antenna maybe) above the window in that area I would re-seal that area.

Right I do not see any stain above the window. I have an awning above the window. It rained last night for several hours. I had the awning out and observed no water on the window. Also no brown streak today. If it was the AC the water would run along roof and down the side of the RV and I should see it on the roof. I did have the AC recently, but this has occurred with and without the AC in operation. I'm still under the impression that water is hitting the window and draining out of the frame. Closer inspection forth coming.
Thanks
John

John, I had this happen on our old TT. It was the window seal allowing water to enter at the top of the window. The water then would work its way around the framework and sometimes drain out the bottom on the inside and sometimes the outside. It made a stain just like that. I had to remove the inside frame work and reseal the entire window. Not as hard as it sounds, it never leaked again. We had the trailer for another 11 years. It was the front window and took all Mother Nature could throw at it.

Well I washed the whole coach from top to bottom. I even spayed water alone the top first and got nothing. Then I sprayed directly onto the window and still nothing. Not sure what is causing the brown water mark.

Either way, I would reseal that window. Cant be too careful and the last thing you want is a soft wall or delamination.

It is defiantly from water. Composet Products offers a lot of sealants that are really good and will save you a lot of money

It's the window frame seal- Mine did the same thing !
I loosened the frame all the way around - Pulled the window about an 1/8 of an inch- Resealed and reset the window- no more stains.
I used (poly butyl tape) and a razor to trim the excess around the window.

R U a mutant
I have the same stain, same window. It started after pulling that window for a residential refrig install. Will be removing it to reseal it very soon.
So YES I agree it is the seal between the window and the coach.

Fleetwood uses OSI QUAD clear to seal things on the side wall. Use the butyl tape around the window but to seal the outside they use the osi. You can get it at home depot, its made by Loctite.

I have the same stain, inside only, and only some times, I have pulled the window twice, and sealed with butyl tape. I think it is the window seal inside the frame, not the frame to the motor home. The window needs to be replaced (fogged). When that is done I suspect the stain will go away.
