Dash Heater Core Replacement Advice

Tomorrow DH is calling Fleetwood to inquire about replacing the heater core in our 2000 Pace Arrow (we have the FIN #). He is hoping they have a diagram or list of items to be removed.
He has spent a number of nights searching on here but has only found articles for DP and not Gassers.
If anyone has tackled this project any advice would be welcome.
Thank You Fleurdalune

I wouldn't buy through Fleetwood because the price will be greatly inflated. Fleetwood would have to buy if from their supplier and then add in profit to the price. First, you haven't identified what chassis your RV is. The dash HVAC is probably built by a different manufacturer, but it might make a difference. Denso supplies Fleetwood, I believe, but another of the big HVAC system suppliers is Evans Temcom.

Another tip would be to remove the heater core you have, measure it and look online for a replacement. Your heater core might even be able to be repaired, according to what's wrong with it.

As usual Bob has given you some good advice. On my MH I have a Denso HVAC system. On my Ford chassis it is located in front of the passenger seat. I'd definitely try to find one from another source than Fleetwood.

Thanks for the info.
This is DH Bilgerat. Our Fleetwood is a 2000 Pace Arrow Model 36C 2 slide Ford V-10.
Question, I can see from the front engine hood opening on the passenger side where I disconnected the heater hoses to jump them out of the loop, just to continue the trip. I wasn't sure if that is the heater core or an HVAC system.
Do I access the heater core inside the RV at the panel under the dash in front of the passenger seat?
And if so are there screws on the carpeted panel? I don't see any but my eyes are so bad if I cant see them or feel them so I assume there are none. Or does it pop off like an older car door inside panel?
I will call Fleetwood and hope there is a diagram or drawing that shows the disassembly.
When I get it out I will check on the Distributors recommended. I'm presently in Southern Maryland, I don't know if there is a Radiator Shop out here somewhere.
Thanks Again, Chuck

I will post an update tomorrow.

Morning Bob & Donna and Ken.
Thanks for the info. I called Fleetwood and Ford and each replied that I need to talk to the other for a diagram of assembly. I think it's a Ford issue, because the dash ac/heat is controlled with ford dash panel. I don't have time for that fight.
I have tried prying on the carpeted panel with just enough force that should release a push in fastener, I have a small pry bar I can use.
I am going to remove the front passenger seat so I have a larger work area.

My panel was held in place with screws (I think 4). I just pulled the carpet back a little and I found them, yours may be different since it is a newer model. I did not remove the seat but that would definitely give you more room. Here are a couple of pics after I removed the panel. In the one pic you can see where the bottom right screw was (dark wet spot area). I do not recall seeing the heater core so you may have to access it from the front of the vehicle.

Here is a link HVAC Systems | DENSO Heavy Duty that may help you as well if you have a Denso system.
