When we bought our RV last year, the person doing the walk through with us advised us to purchase a small screen for this area and also to get a small tin and put a dog flea collar and a bay leaf in it. So far the area is clean as a whistle. Don't know if it's because of this or not. This is our first RV experience, so we followed all suggestions. LOL....

I think spiders don't mind the flea collar smell, at least the one in mine didn't.

Arrived in Decatur on July 28th. My stay was for three days. We were treated very cordially each day and my 12 page work order list was completed. Almost.

On the third day we received a call that the coach work was completed.

The long list was reviewed and we were told what was done to remedy our problems. We signed off and were , that day, very happy.

Next morning, while at the dump site I spotted how my driver's side slide was "fixed". Instead of adjusting the slide to close tightly, they bent the vertical moulding to close the gap. Mind you, during the three day stay they asked me my opinion about how each problem would be approached. Never was bending the moulding ever mentioned. I would not have ever approved such a "fix".

I had Greg , Brian out to the dump site. I told them their "fix" was not going to be accepted. They started to defend their "fix" then suddenly stopped when I stated my slide was going to look exactly like the slide on the opposite side and that the "fix" looked like a backyard mechanics fix.

Later that day, while continuing on our planned trip, I called Steve Heim about the problem. He investigated the issue with the people at the service center. Called me back assuring me that the "fix" was only temporary. Somehow they thought I was in a rush to leave. This was not so nor ever stated by me.

My new date there is Sept 2. I have assurances via email not to worry and all of my issues will be attended to

Supposedly the slide needs to be straightened which means it must be removed from the coach. The bent trim must now be replaced and painted to match.

A few other items which were "fixed" are now back on the list.

One very positive thing happened at the factory tour. We saw our exact model on the assembly line in every stage of build. Even at the paint stage the colors were the same as our coach. At one point in the tour, the tanks in the floor were in plain view. I wanted to see my vacuflush system and when Tom found out I was escorted to the chassis for a close up look. One other point, the cabinets standing up on the floor without any outside walls was something to see.

Woody,

Sorry to hear about your problems, but glad you had a good factory tour experience. I must admit to being confused as to why the entire slide must come out to adjust it. My bedroom slide closed tighter at the bottom than the top and was easily noticeable when looking at it from the outside. My dealership tech adjusted it without removing the slide and it is perfect and has remained so since he made the adjustment.

I had an adjustment made on my living room slide at Decatur and they didn't remove it either. Maybe your slide is more out of slignment than mine. Here is a picture I took of another coach with it's slide out:

Decatur Service Center

Should have updated my fixes from my service center visit.

I have already mentioned lights, water tank issues, and hot water heater issue in other posts. Recap: Water tank had p-trap installed, hot water heater propane burner tube had spider web, headlights still suck, waiting on answers from Ford.

The biggest items that were discussed prior to my visit was the difference in readings between my Intellitec display and Surge Guard Display, grease on carpet from main slide, winshield wiper fluid pump, and scratches on countertops and dining table.

Intellitec vs Surge Guard- different ways of averaging voltage and different parameters. The Engineer explained it to me in Chinese, Russian, or some other language because I understood absolutely none of it. He even drew pretty pictures that looked like a heart monitor readout. Bottom line was both were operating as designed.

Grease marks on carpet and metal trim on floor being knicked up from main slide- Slide tracks had to be adjusted. Carpets were cleaned by service center and no problems after several openings and closing of slide.

Windshield Wiper Fluid Pump - As expected it had gone bad. From others experiences not expecting this one to last either. Time will tell.

Scratches on Countertops and Table- Millwork department sanded, buffed, and polished out all scratches. Did an amazing job and everything looks brand new.

Had to have a fridge door handle replaced as the plastic latch was bent not allowing the hooked part to latch the door closed. Now on third handle for lower left door as it had already been replaced once.

My drivers side chair angled to the right. They loosened up the mounting bolts and rotated seat to the left about a half inch which made a noticeable improvement on the ride back.

They reattached the forward trim piece on the main slide that I had dislodged while attempting to retract slide without having drivers seat up far enough.

They also adjusted 2 cargo bay doors that required pushing on very hard to latch.

Overall I was very satisfied with my visit.

They also complimented me on my nice heater vent on the passenger side. Said only special people get those. HaHa, sorry couldn't resist.

I have some very strange pictures of my intellitec unit not matching my surge protector at all. Took them on a recent trip and with both airs running, showed that I was using zero amps! Ill post them from my phone when I get a chance. Maybe you can help explain if your russian is good enough!

Zero amps? You must have the Super Duper Efficient Units. I am going to ask our top tech and see if he can explain it to me why the different numbers between the 2.

Below is my list prior to arriving at the Decatur center. Due back on August 2 for a repeat performance. Slide as I stated before needs to be reinstalled. but makes no sense to me. My previous coach had a bed slide which never retracted completely unless my shoulder was against it with my wife pushing the button inside. So I was VERY attentive to making sure the slides work when I picked up the current coach. Then, without my noticing the occurrence my slide did not close completely. My thinking is simple. It closed before so a something moved in the mechanism. They were stumped so after the fake "fix" back I go.

The windshield gasket was totally replaced. My original gasket was just sticking up off the glass by a barely noticeable amount. Now it is totally detached at the bottom and the corner trim pieces which are glued on are not even flat with the gasket. So back I go for that.

My camera has a stuck iris. I found this out after leaving Decatur where I was told no hood was supposed to be there over the camera Magnevision states every single camera is supposed to have a hood. When I described my not being able to see when it rains to Magnevision and his then asking me several questions about how my camera was working, he determined that the infrared emitters were blinding the camera all the time and nearly all color has been obliterated. Says to tell Fleetwood to replace my camera. So back I go.

I still have no solution for the blinding effect of the double pane glass upon the mirrors. I now back up worse than my wife. My camera problem did not help this situation. I have never ever had a problem backing using mirrors trailers or no. Often I have reflections which at night make it impossible to see.

Access hole for the bed slide is in the wrong position. It is not humanly possible to access the mechanism to retract the slide. It is in the middle and under the slide box which moves over it. ???

They never got the windshield wiper to wipe my side completely. Even the Storm model right next to mine in the bay was able to wipe properly. Brian was involved with that and they threw their hands up in the air in desperation.

Anyway, all of the repeat problems have been noted on their system. Steve Heim has sent me email assurances. Luckily, I can accommodate the visits. Not everyone can do this.

The dealer name has been X'd out. Wouldn't want to be accused of ruining his "reputation". I haven't even mentioned their antics from the get go.

This was the original list for Decatur and I sure the new/old items will be handled properly. I'm and optimist? Must be.

Right now as I type, the slide issue is preying upon my mind. Take it out??? Replace and repaint to match the trim bent at Decatur???

FIRST LIST (nothing ever done by dealer).

1. Driver side slide does not seal bottom rear. Will sometimes be sticking out approximately one inch. The no sealing at bottom rear verified by XXXXXXXXX. This motorhome is always leveled before extending slides and levelers are not retracted untill all slides have been retracted. Very littly weight has ever been in attached storage compartments. Heaviest weight is on the pantry side and that closes as it is supposed to close (seals evenly top to bottom).

2. "wood" at bottom of kitchen cabinets swollen from being wet one time caused by broken cleanout drain plug at kitchen sink eventually falling out. Fleetwood advised before April. Notes supposedly made on Fleetwood system. Condition of "wood" verified by XXXXXXXX'S before April 8 2014. Pictures taken and supposedly parts had to be ordered.??? Are they cabinets or some kind of kit?

3. Dining table track is glued with liquid nails by selling dealer in Syracuse (XXXXXXX XXXXX). Screws pulled out of wall before delivery. As stated by "tech" in Syracuse, He could not secure the screws and used liquid nails to hold dining table track to wall (glue on top of wall covering!).

4. Wall panel behind fireplace and inside bathroom totally loose. Moves in and out dramatically with the slightest touch from one fingertip.

5. Shower stall leaks on side towards pedestal sink.

6. Roof stained since manufactured. Permanent footprints still visible, footprints enter from drivers side of motorhome and not the ladder. Balance of roof stained during manufacturing with scrape marks from items being dragged across roof (air conditioners?). Have never been able to make it white and clean.

7. Satellite dome wires flopping loose on the roof, never fastened nor secured to each other or wrapped.

8. Solar panel wiring taped together and wire sizes do not match. Supposedly fused but the ultra small wire sizes, like telephone wire, mixed with 14 gauge makes fuses pointless and dangerous. Fire hazard. Fleetwood told about this from the very beginning and ignored my complaint which i accompanied with pictures and basically no answer to how it happened. They acted like i did it.

9. Mid ship tv is not mounted straight with wall. Right side is sticking in from wall trim and left side protrudes out from wall trim.

10. When using mid tv only and the sony sound system any commands feed back to front tv. Cannot turn on the mid tv without the front tv doing likewise. The reverse is the same. Turn one off and both turn off.

11. Headlights are totally useless at night. They are not aimed and never have been. It is not from overloading the motorhome. I'm not the only one who knows this. Many other owners say the same thing.

12. Outside shower hose almost tied in knot or snaked between wires and other hoses behind panel. Totally useless.

13. Black water tank sensors rarely work. Emptying tank will usually show at least 1/3 full even after flushing system. There has only been one instance of solid waste being in the tank!. Lack of access to vacuflush system except through small access panel makes solid waste, including paper a ticking time bomb. It will fail. "engineer",(that's what i was told by Fleetwood rep at Fleetwood) stated in the event vacuum pump needed to be taken out, the black waste stuck in the pipes would spill out between the floor. I'm the one who told him this would happen during failure of the vacuflush system. I was looking for a logical solution like move the vacuflush unit. His solution: lift up front of motorhome to make waste float to the rear of coach. I want to see the human who can fit between 10 inches of space and still be able to work. GRUMBINES has never done one. Only way in is with arms over your head.

14. Slide out canopies too loose. Constantly flap and when rained upon water accumulates on the passenger slide canvas in large puddle.

15. Outside canopy has a plastic wire protector in the track to protect the wires. This plastic protector is coming out or has always been out. It will not snap into place.

16. "L" shaped sofa will not latch in the closed position. If i extend the sofa, it will not release to retract unless i pull and/or tug on cable between release handle and lock. Stopped using "L" for fear of it getting stuck and the driver's side slide might not be able to close without hitting refrigerator or cabinets.

17. Bedroom slide cannot be retracted in an emergency. No access possible to retract manually. It is not built with access holes which make any sense. One hole is provided centered on bed at floor level. Would necessitate 5 foot long arms and only 4 inches thick maximum. Access should be from side of bed towards front of coach. No other way will work. Bed slides under cabinets on opposite wall.

18. Windshield gasket coming loose and protruding from glass surface on passenger side.

19. Lump in floor under linoleum in front of sofa close to bedroom.

20. Drivers side windshield wiper not adjusted properly. Does not clear windshield to left of steering heel. Stops short and leaves large uncleared portion of windhield obstructing view of the road.

21. Reflection on glass at night, driver's side makes viewing left side mirror nearly impossible.

22. Rain shield/hood missing on back up camera. If it rains cannot see anything but distorted raindrops.

Gasket around windshield is common failure. First one failed and Fleetwood changed manufacturers and supposedly sent my dealership the new manufacturers gasket. Next trip out gasket came free and was slapping drivers side sliding window. Had to tape it as temp fix. Took it to dealer and they adhered it using an adhesive and it has remained in place. A brand new Discovery at my storage has the same exact problem with his.

Reflection at night - Yep, mine is terrible too.

Shower stall leak - Is the water going under the track? Mine did and I put a bead of silicone on both sides of the track. I was surprised it didn't come that way.

Back camera hood - does the fact that it is recessed into the rear cap count as a hood as far as Fleetwood is concerned? Will be interesting to see Fleetwood's response to this issue. Mine is also useless when raining.

Wow - y'all have it worse than I did. So sorry - it sure is a downer when all these things are wrong - you are so excited about your new coach and then you have to start a repair list. What a bummer.

So far in one year we have lived in this motorhome for 5 + months. We still really like this motorhome. I have never become very angry about any of this. As long as Fleetwood expresses real concern over my issues, I'll be fine. No need to feel sorry for my issues. I'm sitting here now in Missouri's Meramec State Park. None of these issues has any effect upon us. By the way, any Missouri park we have used has great WiFi coverage. Almost no phone and almost no TV but who really needs those things.

Brian, in my list I worded the camera issue incorrectly. When I notified customer service after speaking with Magnevision, they gladly added it back on as a warranty issue. A little glue would have fixed my original gasket. I was surprised when they replaced the entire gasket assembly. Go figure. After reading about your having the countertops redone, I realized I should have done the same. We have rubber under everything trying to keep additional scratches off those fragile surfaces.

Wow, I'm feeling pretty good about our Bounder right now. We have not had any major issues and very few minor ones (knock on imitation wood-like product). I think the most distressing to us has been our PowerGear jacks intermittently refusing to retract, but naturally that was a "cannot duplicate the problem" dealer visit. Thankfully my hubby learned (from Coach-net technical support line) how to manually retract the jacks so when it happens we know what to do.

We replaced our Extend-a-Lounge L-shaped FlexSteel sofa but it was in perfect condition and worked fine...it was just uncomfortable as heck and we wanted something more comfy.

For the most part, any annoying little thing was easier to deal with ourselves than to drive over an hour to the dealer. Since our warranty is now a fond memory we wouldn't return there anyhow. If we need significant repairs in the future there are other RV repair businesses around Houston with better reviews.

Like Woody, I am concerned about how the VacuFlush toilet will hold up, and what expensive repairs may be ahead for that thing. I almost think it would be easier to tear up the floor than to try to access that system through the storage bay. Hope we don't have to find out.
