Differences: American Eagle vs American Dream

Have been looking online at 1999-2000 AE Eagles and the next step down AE Dreams. Am trying to figure out the difference between the two. Seems the chassis and mechanicals would be the same - but I may be wrong. Interior trim pieces that are different are the lighted AE logo above the bed, light covers on both sides of he bathroom sink/mirror, grab handle in shower, more wood trim above driver/passenger area - everything else I've seen has been the same. I presume the Dream would not have the entertainment center or freezer in the basement... maybe no slide trays in basement? Maybe the fridge is different?

For those of you in the know... what am I missing?

Thanks
H.Huester

Here are the differences that I found when I was right where you are, i.e. Eagle vs. Dream:

- Eagle has pantograph cargo bay doors a la Prevost and OTR tour busses

- Eagle's genset is on a slide for ease of servicing

- The Eagle engine while the same displacement is typically 25 HP higher

- Pre-99 Dreams had rubber roofs versus fiberglass for the Eagles. Dreams came with
fiberglass roofs in 99 if memory serves.

The only other thing that I found was that Eagles were more likely to have the options of the Villa Leather furniture and higher wattage inverter.

Both ride on the same Spartan Mountain Master Chassis with independent front suspension.

Both are excellent units IMHO with great fit/finish and high quality components on board.

I have a 2000 American Dream. It has the connections for the fridge/freezer in the basement, but not the actual freezer (it's high on our christmas list). Also, it does have slide trays in the basement.
The thing I notice more when looking online is that the Eagle has more wood finishes, where as the Dream sometimes has vinyl covered plywood.
DaveS is right about the roof and generator slide.

Former Boater has it pretty much on the money as far as fundamental differences in those years. Any other differences will depend on how many options the Dream has - there are some that are sometimes called "Dreagles" - a Dream that has been optioned to be very close to an Eagle. A friend has a 2000 Dream that even has the heated tile floor, which is an option even on an Eagle.

You can download 2000 Dream and Eagle brochures from the American Coach website.

If they don't still have the Dream brochures online, I can email you a 2000 Dream brochure in pdf format.
