40G

I posted earler, with the Expedition 38B, same floorplan as the 40G.

We have not found the single bathroom to be an issue for the six of us, either, but just give it more time! I wish it had another half bath.

That Newmar Ventana 4310 is sweet! If money had not been an object...but when we bought ours, DP bunks were few and far between.

I want to say Forest River made two also, comparable to the 38B and 40G. I know nothing about FR DP, except IMO the paint job's not as pretty as the Fleetwood or,the Newmar.

The attraction of the 40g is that the bunks are in their own room. Is the Newmar like that too?

A good tip I read was, before you buy, to be sure you can walk through the rig from front to back with the slides in.

????

Apparently, on some rigs, you can't. I would have had no idea, from looking at the displayed models, all with their slides out.

I don't know if it is the case with the 40G, but with the 38B, with slides out and the sofa opened into a bed, the rearmost corner of the footside of the bed makes contact with the opposing kitchen cabinet (beneath and left of the TV). You can't walk through; you have to step over that corner (climb) when you're walking from front to back. With slides in, you can walk all the way back.

The 40G allows you to walk from the front to the master Bed with the slides in. You would have to crawl over the bed to get to the rear closet. There are a couple of drawers in the main dresser you can't open with the slides in.

As Class A's go the 40 G has a pretty generous walkway with the slides in. I've been in some Newmars and Entegras that were way too tight to walk thru for my comfort with the slides in. Usually this is what drives a 1/2 bath midships. So you can get to the bathroom while traveling.

Its a matter of taste.

If the 40G is like the 38G, with the slides in we are able to access the drawers blocked by the master bedroom bed by lifting the mattress (as if you were accessing the under-the-bed storage. This will allow access to those drawers opposite the foot end of the bed.
