Discovery Inverter mounting

Hello all,

I have a 2015 Discovery 40 g. Trouble free for the most part, minus a leveling jack motor replacement. And some flappy awnings (i still have to figure out how to retension).

Now the inverter in the electric bay is falling off the wall. Near as I can tell the plastic board (fiberglass?) has peeled away from the compartments metal surface and the inverter screws have pulled out if the plastic board. Leaving the inverter dangling.

Can I just use longer screws (eg screw through plastic and metal wall) or do I need to glue the plastic board back up and screw inverter back into the board?

Thank you

As you know this is a potential serious issue-Never mind the cost of the thing 2-3 thousand dollars to replace. Lots of DC and AC current running around in that box...loose hardware and loose wires shorting out could be deadly. How about a photo or two? And send those photos along with a request for help to the engineering department of Fleetwood ASAP.

I have no idea if longer screws is your answer. Look a the installation manual of advice. See what you might be drilling in to or screwing into first.

Good luck and good thing you found this before you have more serious problems.

John

Thanks for the reply John.

I have an email into fleetwood. I'll see what they have to say. I'd just take it in but I'm 300 miles away from nearest authorized service place.

Mine only has two screws in the bottom slots, top is pulled away from the wall. Just found this today. The more I look the more poor workmanship I find. Seems like fleetwood has no quality inspection.
