We have an 04 Discovery, C7 330 Cat, Allison 6 speed transmission. The MH is slow to start moving from a stop. We just had test run on the engine and all is OK with it. We were weighed and we are under our weight limit. Have not had the Allison checked out. We are told we should not have to manually shift to get going or when going up mountains. The driver is manually shifting to get moving and on steep grades. Is the slow start and the mountain manual shifting normal? Opinions please and very much appreciated. Thanks!

Is this a new issue? Is this coach new to you? Never had any problems you describe with my '05. Could it be expectations are different from reality.

We bought the coach new in 04. This problem is recent. The CAT people are saying it's not the engine but maybe we got some bad fuel. They don't think it's the Allison since we can downshift and it works. Just not sure if that is what we are suppose to be doing.

It was a matter of resetting or reprogramming the transmission. Very happy with it now.
