I hope this helps others who are having issues when the slide-outs stop working.

The slide out connectors and control board are located in the engine battery compartment on my 2003 Discovery 39L .

A slide out stopped working.

I found out I could move the connector from a working slide out to the one that would not work to get the slide out in or out.

What I eventually discovered was the connectors are not soldered into the board. I removed all connectors, removed the slide out control board and soldered all connectors on the backside of the control board. I have not had any problems since.

I had problems with slides on my '04 Providence. The dealer found poor connectors on the boards as well. I'll remember the trick of swapping connectors in the future. Right now I just have to wiggle the connector to get it to work.

Thanks

I am also having problems with the passenger slide. I have a 2005 discovery and have tried swapping the slide controller connectors and that worked for a while then quit. I have a new extra controller. I read your post about soldering the connectors on back but can't determine how to get the four rivets out to get the back off them. Hope someone could help. My problem has been going on for 3 years to the point I'm afraid to let the slide out fearing can't get it back in. when I get ready to take it to the dealer it has started working before i get to the dealer. I have replaced all the batteries. I thought it had finally stopped with the intermittent working this year. Drove 2000 miles came back and it still wasn't working. Got ready to start checking back from the slide motor thought I would check to make sure and it was working. Help anyone

James
