Discovery Suspension Failure..

After trading in our '05 Alpine we headed home in new 2015 Fleetwood Discovery 37R. In route, about 400 miles out, the curbside rear suspension air bag failed. Fortunately, Warner Truck Center, Freightliner dealer in Salt Lake City, very nicely, had us back on the road with new rear suspension, costing us only a couple days lost time. We were allowed to overnight at Cummins Rocky Mtn., w/ 50 amp hookups, just up the street.
Note: Freightliner has issued a TSB regarding failure of these air bags on the newer chasis, with recommendation to replace them

Glad it worked out ok. Got the TSB number and title?

Glad you were able to get it fixed!
Can you provide any further explanation on the failure?
Did it leak air? Did it blow up? Pop a seal? Hose?

I also have a 37R that is going in for service in September and would love to add it to the list if there is a TSB to correct a potential issue.

Thanks for posting Fireguy-42!

Re: Discovery Suspension Failure.

According to the technician, they found that the right rear air bag (spring) became unseated, had burst , and the top mounting plate was bent. Warranty covered replacing both rear air springs. That was at 2301 miles, and hopefully I will not have any more issues with the suspension. Since the rear of the rig sagged, the Fancy Discovery Rock Guard was damaged, and Freightliner will reimburse me for the replacement.
