Dish Satellite Receiver Installation

I have been attempting to install a Dish Network VIP211, I believe, receiver I purchased from Camping World, for my 2015 Bounder 35K I did not know about checking the satellite antenna, will check that out. Another question, my unit has a Sony Home Theater system installed. All cables except one HDMI plug goes into the theater system. There is another HDMI plug in the back of the theater system. I do not know what is to go into the back of the Dish receiver other than the coaxial cable coming from the antenna. Assuming I get the receiver and antenna paired, what next?

I can hear the antenna alining itself when I flip the power switch to the antenna but I get nothing on the TV.

I'm not exactly following you here, but at the back of the Dish receiver will be an HDMI port. Connect an HDMI cable to it and the other end to (I imagine) the HDMI in on your home theater receiver. Alternatively, that end could go straight into an input on your TV.

Is that what you're asking?

Dish receiver install on Bounder 35K, how?

Not really. I have an HDMI cable currently going into the home theater box. If I remove it and put it into the Dish receiver what would go into the theater box? I have a second HDMI cable does one go in each, receiver and theater box?

I cannot understand how to put the receiver into the system when all cables are currently enter the theater box. I have two HDMI cable, one in the theater box, one just laying loose.

My 2014 35K Bounder came with a Winegard antenna. It was preconfigured for DirecTV. Make sure your antenna is configured for Dish Network so it is pointing in the correct direction.

The jumpers inside the antenna must be changed to work with Dish. It is currently configured as Direct. The HDMI plugs into the receiver. You change your input on your TV to access the receiver. You'll know it is right (TV input) when you see the dish screen on the TV.

Be careful with the jumpers inside the antenna. The nubs can snap off.

There are also two Dish jumper settings to choose.

In case you purchased at Camping World, they sometimes have a cheap install available.

You may need to change the input (on the TV menu) to satellite (or whatever input jack the antenna is plugged into).

I have our 211 satellite receiver connected directly to our Sony TV by a HDMI cable and I also have a Sony Sound system.

On the TV, you have to change the input from Air/cable to the HDMI connection. I reprogrammed my TV so the menu says Satellite.

On the TV you pick either HDMI 1 or 2 to access the receiver. Your Sony home theater works with external speaker selected on the tv. Mine has an optical cable as well.

Thanks to all of you for your replies and assistance. I plan on working on the challenge Sunday, due to rain Saturday, I will let you know my success.

I am scheduled to be at the factory in July and if all else fails the service manager says they can set it up.

I signed up for iRV2 for reasons just like this, glad I did.
