Not being a full timer, I do most of my repair work and inspections when the rig is in storage. So when we are camping the only time I break out the tools is if I have an issue or a project.

When we are on the road, at every rest stop, I do the rig walk around to visually check everything is as it should be. Those travelling inspections have saved me some grief. Our last coach had braided tire air valve extensions, well the mounting bracket for one of the extensions broke and the braided hose was swinging around freely. When I did our first rest area stop inspection, I saw the hose dangling. On closer inspection I found the braid was completely worn through and the rubber hose was deeply gouged. I figure another 50 miles and I would have had a tire failure. Got lucky!
