Does your coach need one of these?

Whike traveling on Interstate 5 yesterday I noticed a couple of twanging noises. I pulled over to a rest stop it looked didn't see anything odd. Got back on the highway less than five minutes later I heard a loud scraping noise. Pulled over immediately came out and looked and saw this hanging from the passenger frame rail on my coach. Luckily I hadmy battery powered sawzall with me so I was able to just cut it off. Looks like all the welds just went. Coache is just a little over a year old

Possible a heat shield ; to keep the exhaust from setting fire to the wooden floor of the coach .
JMHO; Get it properly installed.

Skip426 is correct. That is a heat shield. Ours came off on the highway at 60 mph just outside of Branson, mo..
We had it welded back on at a local repair shop. Called fleetwood and they declined to cover the repair as we were out of warranty.

I was on RT 95 running about 65mph when I heard an awful sound and when I could pull off the road the panel was held by just one spot weld. I was able to remove the shield and continue the trip.
Here is my solution.

I10 is the worst road I have ever been on period. Littered with tire carcasses the whole way. I lost two trailer tires in 60 miles.
