Doghouse - Insulation/Soundproofing

My doghouse cover has no insulation or soundproofing on it. Is this normal? Can I add some to it without overheating the engine?

Doghouse insulation

Yes everybody it seems with older Fleetwood has that issue. You can order material off of Amazon. It has sticky back and adheres real good. I cleaned bottom and then cut to fit. Sealed edges with aluminum tape. Made a Huge difference with heat and noise.

The dog house on my 2007 Bounder was not insulated. One of the first mods was to insulate it. I used Hush Mat. It is a self adhesive materiel that can be cut with scissors. It has been on for 7 years and show no sign of letting go. No overheat issues and sound level in the coach is much reduced and is heat.

Can also use foil faced denim insulation available at large hardwares by ordering it (about $20) and good quality spray glue.

There is a product named "Dynamat" specifically for this. It does an excellent job of soundproofing AND heat control.. I installed it on my ole 2001 Mirada doghouse. BIG difference.. Take a look sat the article and photos.
