My newly purchased 2001 Bounder has a Dometic model RM3862 frig and upon doing a little research I've found that it was part of a recall in 2006. Since I bought it from a dealer I can't contact the original owner to ask if it was taken care of...is there a way to know besides taking it to an authorized dealer?

You can find out if the recall has been done by going to the Dometic web site and entering the model # and serial # from your refrigerator.

Refrigerators - Dometic

Good Luck,
Jon

It was recalled, I just can't determine if the work was actually done. All I can find on their web site is information regarding which units were recalled, not whether a particular unit was corrected or not.

Call or email their customer service and they should be able to tell you if the recall was done on your unit.

If the recall has been done, there will be a temp sensor riveted to the heat shield. It shuts off fuel flow when it senses overtep. Perhaps someone who has had the recall done, will post pictures.
