Dometic refrigerator

Can I plug in without 12volt my Dometic rm2801 refrig while it is out of motorhome to see if after turning it (upside down and side to side) if this thing is dead

I think the control panel has to have 12V.

that's what im wondering as the tubes are heating up but fridge is warm the controls are just knobs.....so don't know if 12v is needed

You can make a cheater cord and connect directly to the electric heating element to fire off the boiler. I would not leave it unattended.

Refrigerator should be O.K. if it's left upright for a time. An old-fashioned treatment of an absorption refrigerator that wasn't operating properly was to turn it upside-down, leave it overnight, then put right-side up. After a few hours, you could hook it up and it would be, "good as new." RV fridges do use a 12 v control panel, so gas, ignitor, and 120 v heat element shouldn't work without the 12 v.

Ok well I have it plugged in and coils are hot to touch but nothing cooling inside so if I run 12v to it will that help or is it broke it's a 1989 pace arrow all original except I put new vinyl click lock floor in it and some cosmetic upgrade to back splash would love to keep rest original as its in super good shape
