Question Dometic Refrigerator Display Out

Hi,

I have a Dometic 2652 refrigerator/freezer. It's two way, either gas or A/C. I have done my research, but am not seeing anything similar to my problem.

The control panel works off dc power apparently. I have checked and have 13.2 volt dc power going into the refrigerator panel. I have checked all three fuses with a volt meter and they are good. I have checked the over temp sensor on the chimney and it shows good. I have even checked to see if the ac was working by plugging in a drill and it is working. Anyone ever had this problem and have a fix? I have also taken off and put back on all the connections. I have turn off both dc and ac systems for more than an hour.

Anyone ever had this problem and have a fix?

Thanks in advance!

I've probably seen the problem, but it's a shame cause you didn't tell us what your problem is haha.

Oh, in the title. I never read titles hardly.

Well, from the main board, you should have voltage going up the harness to the upper board, and then down from the board. If you have voltage at the upper board, then it's bad.

Now you talk about not seeing the forest because of the trees, this is a perfect case... Sorry about that!

The problem is that I don't get any lights on the control panel and the light in the refrigerator is not on and the unit does nothing. It had been working fine for a couple of months, then just quit at the end of my Christmas trip.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Don

I would do like you did. See if there is 12VDC power coming into the lower board.
Then see if it's being sent out and up to the upper control board.
Then see if it's getting to the upper control board.

Did you check the fuse inside the black box? Have to take the cover off. There are also a few inline fuses on wires running into that box.

If the fuse inside is good, I'd suspect the circuit board. About $130 online, easy swap.

Question

Hi Jim,

Yes, took off the black cover. There is a 3 amp fuse and a five amp fuse under the cover where the board is located. Checked continuity on both fuses in there and they were good. There is one inline fuse outside the black box that I believe is for the fan and it is good too.

Once it warms a little I am going to see if I can determine where the power to the display comes out of the board. Before I spring for a new board, want to be sure the board is out.

Thanks for your reply! Standing by for any other ideas...

IIRC Orange is the 12V+ wire going up to the upper board.

Thanks Jim. It's finally warming up enough to go out and check that.

Thanks so much for posting the manual! I am a totally 'amateur' fixer, but am going to exhaust every avenue before I take it to the '$$$' store. I look at it as challenge.

Surely, you've solved your issue by now, but I thought that I would add this for others having the same problem. I have a Dometic RM7732 and the eyebrow board (the lights at the top) have gone out twice in the past year. Both times I was about ready to order a new board, but they came back on by themselves. I'm not sure exactly what I did the first time, but the second time was right after I disconnected the battery bank (using the disconnect switch). This evidently caused the control board to reset and the lights came back on. So, I would certainly try to disconnect all DC and AC power momentarily before taking it in for repair.

Again, I'm not certain this helps you, but just thought that I would add.
