Not to hijack the thread but this brings up another question. What have others found as the best way to clean the mold and mildew from the door and window frame moldings? The black spots and discoloration in these moldings really seem to resist cleaning.

1/2 bleach to 1/2 water. dab on with a cloth and let sit for 5 minutes.
Use hand brush with nylon bristles to brush affected area.

Just as a precaution, when using a bleach solution that strong make sure you wear rubber gloves and only use in a well ventilated area. If a half and half mixture gets on any painted or clear coated finish flush with water as quickly as possible or it will discolor the finish. Also, a strong solution will pit metal if not quickly removed. You may want to refer to instructions on the bleach bottle for other dilution rates. JMHO and I'm sure some will disagree. When in doubt, read the directions.

David, Try baking soda and a damp rag, won't hurt your paint and its time to change the fridge baking soda anyway so don't throw it away.....cleans everything

Helmut,

Spots are from you being sloppy!
Didn't you want a white shirt anyway?
