Drivers side outside light not working

Hi everyone. We have a 2018 Bounder 35K and just discovered an outside light on the drivers side over the wet bay and can’t get it to work. We tried the Utility rocker light switch on the dashboard and that works the wet bay interior lights but not this light. I am not very mechanical and don’t know how to check to see if it is the bulb or fuse. Not even sure how to open up the light to get to the bulb. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When that happened to us we decided that the vacuum from the fan was pulling odor from the waste tanks either through a trap or through a toilet valve. We found that if we cracked a window or used a low setting on our Fantastic fan in the hall outside it was fine. Sometimes a fan can overcome the seal made by the water in the sink or shower trap and pull in air from the gray tank.

We have 2015 and ours works with the step light switch.

Hi Pete. Thanks for helping. Since I don’t have a light labeled “step light” I am not sure what you are referring to. A switch says Entry Step” and another says “Porch Light” but neither of them seem to turn on the light. Any other ideas?

That light is most definitely supposed to work with the Utility switch on the driver's dash. That light, two under the hood and the one in the wet bay are all controlled by the same switch. Did that light ever work for you?

Is it possibly a docking light?

We don’t know if the light ever worked because we didn’t realize it was there.

Gypsy9978, my son had a light like yours on his 5th. wheel that did not work. I removed the plastic lens cover (2 or 4 screws if I recall) to check it out. Ended up that someone had put the wrong bulb in the socket, it was a kind of bear to remove since it was the wrong bulb. I'd start there and see if in fact the bulb is even good. Actually, I think his switch for this light said "Scare Light". He doesn't have his trailer anymore so I can't double check.

Is utility switch on dash as Elwood 58 stated above. I relamped ours before I called Fleetwood & found out Utility sw on dash not only works under hood that dealer showed us, but also L/H big round light & water compartment cargo light. Dealer didn’t mention those 2 lights.

Thanks everyone.
UPDATE: My brother came into town and was able to take a look at it for me. The lens cover comes off with 4 “hidden” screws that are inset into the lens cover. Even though we had never used the light before, the bulb was black and burned out. Popped in a new #1156 12v bulb and it works fine using the dashboard rocker panel switch labeled “Utility Light”

Should be seperate switch. Ours are called safety lights 2 seperate switches. Bulb is behind
Lense held in by 2 or 3 philips head screws. Supper easy to check bulb. Just use a step ladder. Easy bulb replacement. Give it a try. Take a butter nife to pop of lense if needed.
