We have a 2006 bounder 35e.I will be loading for a trip and need to know how to provide electric for refrigerator and lights.Do I need to step down from 50a to 30a to 20 a so that I can use existing house wiring. My power cord for the rv has a twist lock female end that attaches to the unit leaving a 50 a male end to start stepping down current.
thanks

For just lights, frig and battery charging, all you need is a 20amp outlet. Yes you'll need a 50amp/20amp adapter if you don't have one. You should also get a 50amp/30amp adapter and keep them both with you. That way you'll have some shore power in those CGs that don't offer 50amp service.

Welcome to the forum. Most of us carry these Camco RV - Power Grip Generator Adapter, 30A - 55272 - Electrical Adapters - Camping World

There's one to take you from 50 to 30 and another to take you from 30 to 15/20.

Have fun.

Rick

There is also one to take you from 50 amp directly to 15 amp. Avoid using the 16 gauge extension cords commonly used for gardening equipment. If possible plug your extension cord into a 20 amp circuit. I use a 12 gauge extension to cool the frig before a trip because my standard cord is 20 feet short.

Hello and welcome, bronxboy,

Your 35E was originally equipped with a 50 to 30 amp pigtail and a 30 to 20 amp adapter. I believe that is the ideal setup and provides you with power in any normal plugin situation.
Your 35E is equipped with ECC that senses the incoming amperage and automatically adjusts your electrical useage.

Remember to level the unit while operating the refigerator.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Yep, like others have already said, you need the step-down adapters. Luckily, they can be found in most Walmart RV departments and on Amazon for a reasonable price. Enjoy your trip!
