Elec shade

Morning all
We have an 08 32K, I keep forgetting to ask this each time on this site. The shade that goes down and covers the front windshield. Its electric and controlled by a switch on the left side console. To get it to move up or down you need to keep pushing it and it moves only a small amount each time. My question, is this right? Or is there a fix I can do as in reprograming, or do you feel I need a new switch. Thanks Steve Lambert

One of our windshield shades started doing the same thing, working intermittently. Eventually the motor died altogether. I called Fleetwood and they'd only sell the entire windshield shade assembly (the day shade and night shade as a package) and it would have been very expensive - $600 for just the parts. I was not able to find a source for the motor only. I went on-line and found a local dealer for the brand we have (Auto Motion) and they replaced the bad motor, fixed one of the manual shades with a broken internal spring mechanism, and adjusted the rest of the shades for just over $300. Unfortunately they are a long way from Pennsylvania (central Florida).

Mine never did that so I'd have to say you have a problem. You may have a motor going as Jay pointed out or it may be a simple thing like the switch contacts. Try something like this.

My shade had the similar problem. It was only moving about 2 inches with each press of the switch. After I went through the reprograming steps, the shade then worked fine. Click image for larger version

Hope this helps. My program switch is located next to roller on drivers side. It hangs down about 4 inches.
