I am about to install electric dump valves in my 2007 38V Bounder diesel. Has any one done this recently. Where is the best place to get the 12v power from?

Just curious but why would you want to do this? I can think of a couple of disadvantages. Mainly, your not outside to make sure the hoses are properly connected and sealed and also the hose hasn't developed any leaks.

The switches will be mounted on the bay door so I do not have to crawl under the full wall slide to get to the valves. Beside I need a project to keep me busy. Now as far as electrical help, I really don't need it I was looking for ideas that I had not considered.

I have electric dump switches, and its great to push a button. In the event they fail, there is an Allen screw drive for manual operation. In my case the valves are on the opposite side of coach (PS) but in an accessible compartment.
You might consider running new 12V to a new fuse block in case of other projects. You'll want a fuse anyway, and the wire run won't be any more trouble in the next gauge up, but the new source will be sweet when next you invent a project.

Do electric dump valves have a manual override should there be an electrical malfunction, just curious.

Thanks

What kind electric valve did you buy? I put the Phase four industries on my 2007 Disel Bounder a coupler years ago really like them. Same reason as you have-have to crawl under the full wall slide. I got power off my power distrubtion box just in front of the battery compartment. I also bought a sewer hose with a large shutoff valve on the end ( the in ground connection end)--so you cannot dump the tanks without opening the valve on the end of the hose.I also got that from Phase four.

These are Barker Auto Drain. They are designed to be mounted without removing the original valves. I am almost finished installing them. The switches are mounted on the bay door in a position that I can reach without going under the slide. I chose to wire them to the water pump switch. The water pump switch has to be on before the valves will operate. Since we travel with the pump off and the discharged is covered it should protect against opening the valve. I have ordered another switch for the grey tank to mount under the sink.
