Why Fleetwood has called a recall an upgrade (06004) is beyond me. The notice says it is a problem with the Kwikee steps on "certain 2006 model year motor homes buildt during the time period of Sept. 28, 2005 through Dec. 30, 2005".

I picked up my 32VS in August of 2005. It had a build date in July. I contacted the dealer just to cover my ... self and they said drive it in and we will check it for you. 100 miles away, no way. I contacted Fleetwood to have them verify that I fall outside their recall dates. "Take it to your dealer for their determination". Are you going to pay for the gas for me to drive it down there and back to be told I fall outside the "upgrade"? Nope.

Just ranting. This should have been such a simple question for them to deal with. I can't believe they don't know which actual units need to be checked. Their data bases must have the serial numbers of the units possibly built during this time period.

Rocky 2, next time you are in for service for something have it check than, a recall stays on until all have been done, just keep a copy of paper work so YOU won't forget to have it checked. They everdently don't know when the problem started. "007"

Fleetwood is just being Fleetwood. They won't commit to the sun coming up in the morning without checking with the selling dealer. And, of course, the dealer 5 miles from me won't see it because I didn't buy from them. Just ranting on.

Rocky 2, try contacting Kwikee and maybe you'll get some real info.
www.kwikee.com or call 1-800-736-9961.
But I would first crawl underneath it with a flashlight and jot down the model & serial numbers...

It is probably not applicable to your chassis. It may be that only gassers need to check.
