Yesterday we looked at Excursion and Providence 39V. My wife really likes the floor plan compared to many other rigs we've looked at. I would be interested in you likes and dislikes about the 39V!

Thanks in advance,
Roy

We have the 2007 38v and it suits our life style. The plumbing bay is difficult to access while the wall slide is out. I make sure that the utilities are hooked up before extending the slide. I have also added electric grey and black water valves; added a clean dump with switches on the bay door and inside the rig so I do not have to crawl under the rig to empty tanks. My house batteries are almost impossible to add water to, so I installed a Quik fill system. Just got finished adding MCD blinds (very difficult to install).
You did not say what year you were considering. So the systems are very different year to year. Make sure that you know where the breaker for the wall slide is located so that you can reset it. Mine is located on the inverter. The slide only comes in under power no matter what the directions say.
If you got the bucks Monaco has a wall slide layout that is similar.

We looked at 2 '06s.

What is the battery "quick fill" system?

I hope you installed keyed switches on your electric waste dump valves

Have you had and problems keeping and/or getting the full wall to track uniformly?

One of the "disadvantages" of the full wall compared to multiple sides on the same side is being able to extend only one side if there are obstructions which would prevent the full wall's extension. Have you run into parking spaces where you've not been able to extend the full wall?

Battery Watering System - Double

I will not have another coach without a full wall slide.
You have to make sure that you have room to open the bay doors with the slide open. The slide tracks fine. The awning cover likes to flap in the wind. Once or twice I've had to close the slide because of wind. When the wife is drying her hair it sometimes pops the breaker that controls the slide - 06 may be different. The wall slide comes in under power - period. You may ask how does he know this? I managed to blow the slide program. Fleetwood knows the secret way to move the slide but it then has to be reprogrammed. Key is that 99% of the time an electrical problem is a fuse or a breaker - all you have to do is find it. Oh and don't let your electrical tec friend help.

My clean dump system is powered by the house system and in not active when the coach is in storage.

I have the '07 Excursion 39V and never a problem with the slide tracking. I have managed to accumulate significant rainwater on top of the slide that dumped down my neck the first time brakes were applied after leaving the campsite. Pcurt, can you share a little info on the electric dump valves and clean dump system. Getting to the dump valves is a major PIA once the slide is extended.

I own a 06 Providence 39V we love the single slide. Campground in NYC got hit by lightning and blow the syc switch. It took one mechanic in 90 degree temps almost 6 hours to get the slide in. It's really the only problem but I installed a Progressive voltage protection system. It's saved me a couple of times. The lightning did over $5,000 in damage but the extended warranty covered.

I Installed 2 AutoDrain Valves ( Tweetys.com - RV Parts & Accessories - RV Hitches - Warn Products - Search) and I installed the switches on the inside of the bay door bay door. When I open the bay door the switches are accessable without crawling under the slide and kneeling in the mud. The Valves are installed on the push pull rods of the existing valves. So they are installed with the drains closed. It was fairly easy to install.

We spend the winter in our rv so I also put a grey tank switch inside the rv next to the sink in the bedroom. It is always raining when it is time to empty the tank. I also put in a clean dump system with the switch on the door and inside the rv.

The trouble I had was that I could not find any easy access to 12v. So, I put every thing on the same circuit as the water pump. The pump has to be on to use the valves and the clean dump. It has all been installed for over 1 year and works fine.
