We have a 2004 Fleetwood Expedition. The RV repairman just tried to install an Extend a stay hose on it so we could hookup to an external bottle while we're stationary for the winter and dont have to run our rig to town to fill up when it's low. He says there is no way to do this on our rig. What do you suggest and what do others do when they are in one spot for an extended period?

Thanks

Sure you can just add an extend a stay T between the tank and regulator. This is done all the time. I think the repair man just did not want to put one in. Parts are available at CW or most RV supply places. Could diy as it is easy. good luck.

I would suggest a different RV repair man.. Very very very few coaches can not accept an Extend-a-stay. Very few indeed.

I am not a professional RV technician, but if you are anywhere near where I-85 crosses from Georgia to South Carolina... I can look at it and likely tell you how to do it.

Based on what you guy's have said, I just ordered myself one for my 2000 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision. Tired of the wife getting upset when the propane indicator reaches empty.

Most rigs an extend a stay is no problem - but on some rigs it won't fit without major work around.

My husband also looked at it and the whole thing would have to be redone in order to install the Extend a stay. I thought maybe someone who had the same kind of rig we have had run into this and found a simple solution or am I dreaming?????????

It doesn't fit on my 28' Fleetwood Jamboree so your not the lone ranger - propane expert says it will take a major work around. Smaller propane tanks don't have sufficient spacing between the valve/regulator - and not much room for easy work around.

Regulator moves forward a few inches... it's very simple.

Autofish, thanks for the offer but we are in southern Texas. wa8ymx...will get photos today or tomorrow and post. Our tank is underneath and the hookups are not on the side like the one shown above. Thanks for all who answered and we will be in touch.
