There is an on going discussion on another forum about exterior head lights. I have eight individual lights on the front of my coach, four on each side. The lights (two each) are for low beams, high beams, DRL and fog lights. When my low beams are on, high beams go off...when I put the high beams are on, low beams go off.

Another poster said the lows should stay on when the highs are on. I can't find anything in the manual that explains how they "should" work.

Anybody know for sure?

Thanks.

That is the way headlights on cars and my MH are. perhaps running both would create too much heat within the light. I believe they are all designed to use just one or the other.

There's a device you can buy called a 'Brite Box' that will keep the lows on when you activate the highs.

As noted in my original post, there are separate lights for the low/high beams.

There are 4 light states on MODERN GM and Workhorse.

1: OFF: (Requires engine be off)
2: DRL, (both high and low beams, half, or seriously reduced power)
3: HIGH (Just the high beams, low beams are off)
4: Low: (Just the low beams, high beams are off)

In over over 40 years of driving cars, trucks and RV's. and closer to 50 for "All other vehicles" I have NEVER seen a vehicle that ran both high and low beams, full power, at any time. With the possible exception of a vehicle in alarm status. Not even police cars (it's a special 3rd bulb that is so bright)
