factory-installed inverter
The factory installed 300 watt inverter's fan is howling and the unit likely will have to be replaced. Unable to find an exact replacement for the Magnadyne inverter. Has anyone replaced with a suitable unit? Thanks.

I have been looking at this Morningstar, has the option for a remote on-off switch.
SureSine » Morningstar Corporation
This is the best price I have found.
MorningStar SureSine Inverters

Howling is indeed the Fan. DO NOT worry about exact replacement, Just get a 300 watt TSW iverter that fits, Samulex for eample.
Inverters come (for this) in two types, TSW and MSW, TSW is best, always best (more expensive but best) in the 300 watt size all other considerations are likely non-existant.
In the 3KW size, there are other factors to consider.

I plan on purchasing it soon. I have a 2000 watt MSW that power the TV and Satellite but it draws a lot of standby power just for a TV. I am currently installing a sub panel to supply power to some of the other plugs in the coach. When I get the Morningstar I'll put the TV on it and only turn on the 2000 watt when I need power to other plugs.

Our inverter fried last spring. Replaced with an AIMS Power pure sine wave #PWRI130012S. Didn't need much watts as they only power the TV's.

I know this is an old post. But if someone out there has a fan howling in the old 300 watt Magnadyne inverter, and they want to salvage it, the fan can be found on Amazon for 7 or 8 bucks. It's a 4020 (40mm x 40mm x 20mm), 12v, 2 wire fan. Maybe someone will see this and it helps. Or maybe not.
