Does anyone know where a factory installed inverter would be located on a 2006 Southwind 37C? Mine does not have one but I would think the harness would be there anyway. I did see an unused connector in my coach battery box. Would the wiring harnesses be similar on other models/years? Thanks for any input.

Are you adding a separate small inverter, e.g. for tv use only, and keeping your existing converter/charger? Or do you want to swap out your converter and replace with an inverter/charger? The latter is a fairly big job that involves a lot of wiring changes and is probably not pre-wired.

Hi there,
You can tell if you have pre-wire for inverter by checking your batt compartment. The size of the wire must be at least 12GA for small inverter and for big ones say 2000W inverter, size of wire is just like a battery cable #2GA. Check your rig options list when you bought it if available.

Are you asking about a "Converter," because Fleetwood typically doesn't install "Inverters" in their gas coaches. Not even on the Pace Arrow which is their top gas model.
So if your looking for the converter it's usually mounted near the electrical breaker panel, on the floor behind a cabinet.

We must be the exception. We've got both. Our bedroom TV runs on the inverter. There's a sticker on it's cabinet saying so & the switch for it, labelled "inverter", is on the bedroom wall. I'd have to check, but I think the inverter is in the passenger-side bay just rear of the entry door.

These days the gas coaches often have small inverters to power the tv & satellite equipment only.

Maybe they started installing them in the newer ones. But when I took the factory tour in 2005 I asked the floor supervisor about it, and he said they didn't at that time.
