As usual, during our recent visit to Camp Decatur for work on the Revolution I took the factory tour. I think this is the 4th tour since 2000. Each time I notice something new and also am amazed at the changes to the line. This is the second tour this year and could readily see changes according to their "lean line" concept.
But, the most interesting was the new items for the American Coach line. The windows for 2012 are what they are calling frameless, meaning from the outside they look to be a flat piece of glass mounted to the side of the coach, very, very nice looks. It will be interesting to see how they hold up, fogging wise, compared to some of the posting of problems we have read about.
The other is LED lighting, replacing the high current, high heat, limited life bulbs we all experience. We were told that with all 80 bulbs turned on in a 45 ft Eagle the current drain goes from 80 amps to 10. Guess I didn't realize that our bulbs consume 1 amp each. The replacement takes the LED plus the fixture, was quoted $25 each. That's a lot for 80 fixtures. I will say there is NO heat when touching the lens cover and really liked the looks of the light.
If your in Decatur it is a very nice tour and a great tour guide.
And, as usual AC service took care of everything we had on our list then some!!
