filter locations 2006 Discovery 39L

Is there a diagram to show the locations of the fuel filters? I just pruchased the 2006 Discover 39L and trying to go over everything. Part of the daily maintance is to drain the water that has been removed from the fuel, I'm looking for that also. I know I have a lot to learn going from a gas to diesel but I'll get it (I hope )

If you look back by the radiator in the rear radiator compartment I think you'll find the water/separator fuel filter in the lower right hand side. At least that is where it is on our coach, and on a friend's 2004 Discovery 39L. Since you have a Cat engine, I'm not sure, but I think you have a secondary fuel filter located on the curb side of the engine. Hope this helps.

street side of engine, oil filter and air filter behind house batterys. aft of radiator fuel filter. and another may be under intake on curb side of engine some had and some did not. Dryer filter just aft of the lft rear dual tires ( a b@$t to get to) Trans filters are in the trans pan under two smaller pans
You should have a cat manual and alison manual with your goody bag that came with MH. This will tell you how to change engine oil and service trans.

The secondary fuel filter is easiest locate from inside. there is a panel under the rear of the bed, carpet panel slides out the 4 large screws to remove engine cover, the filter is passenger side of engine up high

Take the daily filter drain with a grain of salt. If you are buying fuel from major stations you are not going to get a measureable amount of water. Look at the window in the filter occasionaly but do not be crazy about it. I have been runing diesels for over 50 years and major stations don't have that big a problem anymore.

I've had my DP for a little over two years now and have never had miosture in the fuel/water separator. As for the difference between a gasser and a DP, the DP may seem a bit intimadating at first but it dosen't take long to feel comfortable with the maintenance items.
