Fireplace Failure

Woke up in the middle of the night smelling something electrical burning or burnt. Turned out it was the fireplace insert in our 2016 Bounder 35K. The power control circuit board had parts on it that failed and melted. There was no light, fan or heat. We sometimes leave the fireplace on overnight at 66oF to keep the chill off the coach when the temperature dips in the desert. This was a little disconcerting because the circuit breaker did not even open.

This is our second unit (EF-30A). Our first failed after only 1 year. We could never run it on high (1500watts). The heater would just cut out and blow cold air. The present unit (replaced under warranty) has been in just over 18 months.

So now we need a replacement. Has anyone had to do this and what unit did they use. I have googled but can't find anyone handling this model. (I did find a Chinese distributor that would sell in 50 unit lots. Not helpful.)

Do a search for Greystone RV fireplace. That's what our 2016 Bounder had. Go measure the front of the fireplace so you know which size. Also the one we had was raised glass not flat glass.

AFfiredawg As a last resort I will call REV. After 2 failures I'm inclined to look for another maker.

Cacique Thanks for the link. However this one is not the right dimensions.

z3406 Good your still around the Bounder forum with your sage advice. Measurements done and now to search.
