Fleetwood and Thor
Is this true? We were diesel shopping today and the salesperson said that Thor bought Fleetwood. Any truth to that? I depend on this group for the facts!

Allied Recreation Group is a private equity firm that owns Fleetwood, Monaco and others. Nothing on their website about it.

That was my thought, too, Sarah. We are in this full-time now and we want to stay with Fleetwood if and when we go to diesel.

After doing a quick search, looks like years ago Thor bought some of the towable assets from Fleetwood, and more recently bought some former Navistar assets from Fleetwood, but that's all I saw.

This is factual...Thor does not and has never owned Fleetwood outright...see:
Thor Industries - About Thor - Our History
Allied Specialty is the new conglomerate that owns Fleetwood and is growing...even swooping in to acquire companies like Monaco (but not the whole company or it's holdings) AND even buying divisions (like El Dorado bus) from Thor:

I attended a rally in the Elkhart area in May and heard a presentation by Tim Sullivan, the president of ASV. He's a very impressive guy and he laid out a plan of expansion for the ARG part of their business. They plan a large expansion to their plant in Decatur, IN. They plan to buy or develop service facilities in all regions of the country and one or two in Canada.
