Think we need our hand held

The wife and I are looking to purchase a brand new fleetwood axon. There are no dealers near us so we're looking for yalls knowledge to to get us started down the right path. We love the floor plan and my wife loves the viper red. So I guess what we need is alot of knowledgeable folks to help us with our purchase...for example quality? Price to motorhome value? It's our first so we could use all the help that is offered.

Thanks in advance
Nuck

Welcome to the forum. You’re way ahead of most as you both like the floor plan and the Mrs. likes the color. Good luck with your research.

You may want to check out dealers on the Fleetwood forum and make a road trip to see one in the flesh. If you're still interested, plan on road tripping to a highly rated dealer to negotiate a price.
Unless you're willing to take your new coach to the factory for warranty, a good dealer is pretty important.

Also, a Holiday Rambler Reno appears to be the same coach. In my area, the HR dealer has a better reputation. That may be an alternative for you.

I would advise finding a dealer or RV show & checking one out in person. I can't tell you the number of times I LOVED a floorplan, but when I actually got in the RV, it didn't work for one reason or another (furniture uncomfortable, not enough storage, shower too small, can't get to necessary stuff w/slides in...etc). Anything can look good on paper, but reality can change things. Take it from one who's been there/done that.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Nuck! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I agree with Lori! You need to do a hands-on inspection. And since you're brand new, everything is gonna look good to you! Don't get in any hurry. Do a LOT of tire-kicking before making a decision.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Yes I too agree you need to see the coach up close and personal before making any decisions. Also look at other brands with similar floor plans. We must have looked at 6 different coaches of different brands and similar floorplans before purchasing. This included 2 or three trips to some out of state dealer.

Thank you to all

Yeah I thought it was gonna be easy....we are not near any mh dealers. Drove 2 hrs to camping world a couple weeks ago and thought about throwing in the towel after that...not fun at alll. Then we drove 5 hrs to Macon and had a much better experience but didn't fall in love. So now I figured I'd turn to the folks that have seen enough of them to say if I'm looking at a good product or not...like I say we like the fleetwood axon if anyone has purchased or seen one I would like to know, cause my next option would be to hop on a plane and do some shopping.

Thanks for your time
Nuck

You might want to try something like this -

Also, there are some pretty good large dealers in Knoxville and Chattanooga. I would counsel you to stay away from Camping World. Others may disagree.

Most manufacturers build multiple brands. Kind of a GMC/Chevy or Nissan/Infinity kind of thing. I believe Fleetwood owns Monaco and Holiday Rambler and probably several others.

The REV group owns both Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler.

This is a fairly recent move. In the 00's the Holiday Rambler brand was solid as a rock and well known. During the 00's, HR was bought by Monaco Coach.

They had a hard time in 08 and a difficult time recovering. Production was even stopped I think in '12? '14? and the REV group came along and swooped them up and revived both brands.

They followed a similar model as Winnebago where the Itasca Coaches were Chevy/GMC of each other.

I want to say that '16 saw the first units out.

REV also just bought Lance, finalizing that deal this month.

One more tidbit, the Axon is brand spanking new, along with 11 other models released from the REV group recently.
