Can anyone tell me what the major differences between the models? I am in the process in purchasing a used unit.

When I was looking to buy, I had the same question, as well as what was the pecking order as far as quality. I called Fleetwood, and got all the information I needed...try that on Tues, you'll be glad you did.

The American Coach models are the top end, luxury line and have superior features and materials throughout. Providence and Excursion are the mid range diesels and are essentially identical. Expedition and Bounder Diesel are the entry level diesels, with fewer features and lesser quality materials & construction.
Any given coach may be equipped with more or fewer options, but the basic construction & chassis will be the same for the models in its price class.

I was told by Fleetwood when we were looking that Discovery was just a shade above Bounder.
Al, with your budget and wish list, you may want to look at the Revolution. We were also looking at Fleetwoods a few months ago and had narrowed it down to a 2005 Providence or a 2006 Excursion. We then stumbled upon a 2005 Revolution LE. It was love at first sight because of the upgraded appointments and amenities of the coach and hubby liked the upgraded chassis and the 400 hp Cat. The four slides are great. I also did some investigation and since the Revolution is now considered part of the American Coach line, our coach was grandfathered in to that group and the customer service at Fleetwood is remarkable!
We have been very happy with our decision in the last couple of months of ownership and what we paid was comparable to your budget.
Just my humble opinon....
Faith

The pecking order for AC, top to bottom is Heritage, Eagle, Tradition and Revolution...the latter replaced the Allegiance which is no longer built.
The same order for Fleetwood is Providence, Discovery and Expedition.
