I had a providence until a couple of years ago...It's a remote controled spotlight. Crawl on the roof (or look in the paperwork) and get the brand name. You can order the remote and it'll come with instruction on how to program to your spotlight, and you'll be good to go.

I have an '05 Providence, with a spotlight. It is operated by a remote. The name on the remote is "Golight RadioRay". On the back, is a number (serial #?) 0194-A-898 00376. Here is a picture of the remote. I hope this helps.

Gripper has all the information. We looked all over for the remote and found it in the cabinet above the door on the top shelf and that was from the factory.

Thanks for the pic and info. Have a 01 Discovery with the exact same controler and spotlight. I was at a complete loss on how to use the light and controler.
Do you have to have the ignition on to operate the light? Any info would be appreciated

Hi, my 2003 providence has the same set up. The spotlight rotation operates with your batteries. The light on goes on when the generator is running. Hopoe this helps

Same problem with 2003 used Excursion. There is a remote and will require programing to work.

Yes the ignition key needs to be on for the spotlite to work. That way if you forget to turn the light off it will not run the chassis battery down. Spotlites draw a lot of power.

02 Discovery needs no ignition switch for rotation or light operation. The light is so bright I don't think you would leave it on
