Norm is about to jump into the deep end of the pool!!!!

I'm going to remove the carpet along with the tile from the floor of the coach and replace it with a wood floor.

We have a Fleetwood Revolution with a flat floor when the 16' slide is out.

I welcome any and all comments, from "don't do it" to "it's really easy to do".

Looking forward to responses.

Thanks,

Norm & Anne-Marie

Many have done it and have been happy with the results.
Here is a thread that has links, pictures and videos to help you get started.
Good luck with your project and maybe Norm will join in.

I'm in the deep end of the pool and looking for a life boat.

Took the carpet out only to find the tile is set on a 3/8th subfloor which seems to be glued and stapled to the base floor.

The height difference is more than the product we had in mind to do the floor with.

Short of laying a 3/8th subfloor and trying to match the curves in the applied tiles I open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Norm & Anne-Marie

The job is done. I did not install a wood floor. I did install an "Allure" floating floor system. Not unhappy with the floor system. Went together as advertized.
The coach has many cuts/angles and the floor can only be installed in one direction which has its own problems Cutting to the chase, not a easy as installing in a square room. The major issue is the slides. I have to use pieces of 3/8 plywood (8x30) at the roller threshold to get the slides out. The tile over the subfloor was another whole issue. Hammer drill with a spade to remove the tile and subfloor..lots of work.
In hind sight this is not something I would do again nor would I recommend doing it. If you have the time and tools, a wood floor is the way to go. Good luck in your remodeling. Norm
