Getting ready to head out, and tried to flush the FW system. Put in about 20 gallons and opened the two drains, hot and cold, in the water system compartment of the basement and opened the drain for the Aqua Hot. Nothing came out, no water. Turned on the pump and it started gushing out...que pasa?? This is RV #5, all have had plain old gravity drains, the manual says this is a gravity drain.

I am more confused than normal, any help appreciated.

If there is a drain hose and nothing comes out when the valve is open,
I suggest some negative pressure (suck on the hose like siphoning) and
your problem may go away.

hooverbill,

You also need to turn the fresh water bypass valve. This will allow venting of air. This is the valve that you can use to fill the fresh water from city water inlet. I initially had the same problem as you. Couldn't figure out why the water drain valve was not working.
