FMA Rally in April in Yuma

Is anyone going to this rally next year?

Has anyone been to one of these rallies, are they worth it?

See sticky at top.

Thanks

We've only missed a couple of the Western Rallies - we enjoy going to them. Last year there were some issues with the campground - they didn't want to allow entry to one guy whose rig was over 10 years old, and another guy who had his motorcycle on a trailer. The 10-year-old rig was finally allowed to enter after the rally staff got involved, but the motorcycle trailer had to be left outside the campground gate - the motorcycle was allowed in, but not the trailer! They also prohibited any flags on rigs. These were campground issues, not rally issues.

As for the rally itself - they are well-attended. Fleetwood has a service crew there for most coach issues you might have - you pay a really reasonable price for parts, and labor is free. There are seminars, vendors, good food, and a ton of camaraderie...

We will be at this years' rally in April - look forward to meeting you!

I would presume the idea of owing a RV park is to make as much money as they can. Therefore, I do not understand why a park owner would throw money away based on the age of someones RV. It makes no sense, especially in this economy.

I attended last year in in Yuma for the first time and agree with the above. The Palms rv park is highly rated with many amenities. I was parked next to the couple with the motorcycle trailer problem and it was a PIA for them. Had work done on the rig by an expert. (NC). Before and after daily rates were $20/night including electric. I understand they have changed RV parks for next year. I am going to attend again and would recommend.

To keep out "Jed Clampet" type rigs, although they will usually allow older rigs if the look OK.
