Fresh Water fill won't take water on Classic

Have a bounder classic and cannot get but a few gallons of water to go in the gravity fill door. I did sanitize the system a few weeks ago and drained and refilled a few times. Now we are hitting the road in a few weeks to head up north to Portland so tried to put some water in for the trip a few times and maybe got 4 gallon in and then it runs out the fill. I did check the vent and it is clear. I did notice the last time i drained it, it came out slowly, not the usual fast drain.

I check the owners manual and did exactly what it suggested.

Any thought or suggestion?

I had a problem like that on my Travel Supreme and the solution was a smaller filler hose going into the fill neck. I know my vent was good but a full hose load into the fill neck was too much.

I don't fill thru gravity door I turn the selector that is on the wet bay panel to water tank fill. I do open the gravity door to allow air in the tank to escape as I fill... I watch my tank indicator light to show level in the tank,., GlenB

I have a Bounder classic which does not have that option. Am finding out that there are several little things that the Classic doesn't have that the Bounder does. One is the hot water heater does not have LP/Electric, just LP. I'm sure there are others. I think the Bounder has an inverter but the classic doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, we love our Classic. with bought it when the 2014 had been out for about 7 months and worked a great deal on the 2013. We fell in love with the floor plan with the 34M. We just think that the extra money was not worth the difference to us. Same engine, and tranny.

try filling slower and check the vent line for kinks. You may get water spitting back out the vent but that doesnt mean it is venting enough. The Bounder classic is also on a smaller chassis.

by the fill hole there is a small screened vent but it is clear. I did try to fill slowly but still just comes back out.

Both the slow drain and the no fill sure sound like a plug in the vent line.
In the boating world when that happens it's because a dirt-dobber wasp has built a nest in the line - I expect that could be the case in an RV also.
I'd take another good close look at the vent line, maybe push a coat hanger or other small wire through it just to see if you hit a plug or kink of some sort.

I will do that this week.Just don't want to take it to a RV shop and they charge me 1 hour labor (125.00) for something that is a easy fix.

When I had this same problem when the trailer was new, I knew the vent was okay because when I overfilled the tank, the water spewed out of the vent.

I tried a smaller hose attached to the water feed but that was slow. I finally used a piece of hose about 15" long that I put into the water inlet. That put the water into the tank.

The invoice for my coach shows 19.5 but it came with 235/80/22.5. Not sure if that good or bad but more expensive for sure. FW had to replace one under warranty and it was $500.00. och

I realize this test might be a bit problematic to do if you don't already have water in the tank, but what happens when you open the drain and open the gravity fill port? Does the water drain faster with the fill port open? If so then that also points to a problem with the vent. Of course you can't test this if you don't already have water in the tank, since you can't fill it.
As Dale & Mark suggested, a smaller hose with a slower water flow might help also.

When I fill mine I always just trickle the water into the tank, basically I try not to put water in faster than it can easily come out of the vent line. I do this so that I don't have to worry about building up undo pressure inside the tank. Yes, it takes quite a while to fill it this way, but I try to do it when I'm not in any sort of a hurry.

I will try what has been suggested. I did take the panels off inside the bay and could see the part of the hose going into the water tank. The problem being, where I store the MH, there is no water. I worked on it for a while yesterday but my back is not the best so had to leave it alone.

There is a RV shop about 4 miles from where the coach is so going to take it down there Thurs. I bet it will be a simple fix but will let you know.
