Fresh Water Overflow HELP!

I'm ful-timing and about two months ago we noticed that our fresh water tank will fill up then over flow even thou the fill bypass valves is in the Normal position (city water to the faucets). Also noticed that the water pump cycles a lot more often than it use to. Maybe 3 to 4 seconds every 3minutes. If I didn't know better I would think the fresh water from the city connection is leaking through the pump, or the bypass valve, into the storage tank.... (It takes about 40hours for the tank to fill)

Has anyone else experienced this? Guess I could change the pump. This pump is two years old.

Could be the pump internal check valve (diaphragm) not fully closing due to mineral build up or small debris

Short cycling of pump is symptom of a minor leak.

FILL Valve or pump check valve.

Whichever is easiest access:
*disconnect pump suction line and see if city water flows backwards thru pump
*disconnect fill line AFTER fill valve and see if city water leaks thru

Pump cycling.suspect pump check valve

Sometimes just using the pump and running off the fresh water tank will clear the pump check valve. (turn city water off)

That's one way.....

Disassemble pump (few screws) and clean diaphragm or replace are 2 less expensive ways

Occasionally, my tank fill value will leak, thereby filling the freshwater tank (in 30 or so hours). If I had been running on the water pump, yes it would have cycled on as the leaking fresh water fill dropped the line pressure. I just go out and exercise the valve and all is good until it gets knocked slightly out of position and starts filling the fresh water tank again.

Same issue, when I got my coach. Was the Auto fill solenoid leaking, took the top off and cleaned the valve. Much easier then changing the whole solenoid. Still have the new spare I bought

Well, I installed the replacement diaphragm, but that didn't solve the filling of the freshwater problem . Matter of fact the pump eventually failed, sprang a leak thru the body. I ended up putting in a new pump.... The new one definitely runs better, more pressure. but still a leak somewhere. The new pump cycles on and off every 40sec. Any suggestions where I might look for the source of the problem???

You are probably right ... One of neighbors thought the same thing. Not looking forward to attacking this maze of plumbing to change this valve.
