Has anyone replaced the water pump on a Bounder 36S? Mine is bad, purchased a new one and now I can not see any way to get to the bad one. It is between the fresh water tank and the wall (6" clearance) and about 3' inside. Im not sure how to remove the fresh water tank as it looks like it is too large to come out of the compartment. I can not be as hard as it looks. Thanks for any help. Roger

Still waiting for you professionals to tell me how to get to the pump. I looked at the water tank and I do not see how it will clear the compartment door. Thanks, Roger

Guess you will have to figure it out yourself and report the procedure here so the NEXT guy can benefit from your experience.

Roger, I have not seen the pump location you are dealing with but I have talked to others who have repositioned pumps due to restricted access. Before I would do that, I would post your question to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/bounder/ and give Fleetwood a call at 800-322-8216.

There is a Bounder owners Group on Yahoo Groups. You might want to join that and see if anybody there had a Bounder like yours and knows how to solve the problem.

I have a 36Z and your location sounds exactly like mine. I replaced my pump about 3 weeks ago. Like you, I figured I'd have to hire a 8 year old kid to get into the spot where the pump is located, as I'm 6'1" and carry about 20 pounds more than I should.

There is no need to remove the water tank. I had a PVC plug that fit the connector coming from the tank, I unscrewed it from the pump and screwed in the plug, I lost very little water. The rest was easy, unscrew the old pump from the base and remove the other hose. Reverse the process on the new pump. The whole job took about 30 minutes and I don't think I lost a pint of water.

You'll have to cut the 12V connector off of the old pump and crimp it on to the new.

It looks harder than it really is, GOOD LUCK
