Getting Close to Homeless

Our S&B is sold and closes no later than March 6th. We are on steady search for a 40 ft (or so) motorhome. That's right straight from S&B to a DP. We have never owned or been in a DP that was moving. Starting in the RV world as a full-timer should be an adventure.

We really like the 40X floor plan. Found a couple of 2010 Discovery 40X but they all have a queen size bed. Did Fleetwood make the 40X in 2008 or 2010 with a king size bed? According to their brochure archive, the 2010 could be purchased with options 174, 833, 832, 635, 495, 201, 113, 127, or 497. Does anyone know a website that describes these options as it could explain the popularity of the queen bed in the 40X.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We did nearly the same thing you're doing, except we kept the S&B house for the first year before selling. We had never been in a moving DP either before we purchased our new 40DP and hit the road.

We were full time for about 5 years and loved it before deciding to hang up our keys and buy another S&B house.

Best of luck to you.

Rick

Congrats on getting free.

Right behind you. S&B will be ready to sell in about a month and in our area they sell in less than 10 days. Popular neighborhood. Over sized,, and over taxed storage unit.

The anticipation is killing us.

Actually by school standards they will be homeless. We moved back to my home town that was one move, we stayed at our old house, now occupied by Daughter and family, and then into an apartment, move two and then into our house move three. Three moves in a year by school standards is homeless even if you were upgrading, waiting for a house to be available or any other reason. Weird and cannot wait to be offically homeless again by school standards.

We bought the 2008 Fleetwood Discovery 40X and yes it has a Queen Bed but we have found it to be roomy enough for us!
I will tell you this you are absolutely correct!! The 40X is by far the best floor plan in the motorcoach world!!!
We had talked about trading and have looked at a bunch and just can't find anything we like as much as ours!

Yesterday, we purchased our first RV and pending pre-purchase inspections, will be full timing in a few days. We bought a 2010 Discovery 40X from PPL in New Braunfels, TX. Positive experience.

Now, we have to find a place to park it and get appropriate insurance.

The adventure begins.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Congrats on your 40X.
Discovery Owners is a good place to find Hints & tips on your D.
Good help there for any questions or help needed.
