I'm looking to replace my front tires (29580R 22.5). By the specs, that is, ply rating, diameter, weight, etc. a number of 11R22.5 tires will work. Does anyone have experience with the Hankook tire?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Realize that tires are the weakest link. One failure on the freeway and the consequences can be disastrous - perhaps even life threatening. 'Tis wiser (sez I) to spend the bucks on a good, made in USA tire and go 'economical' in other, safer areas.

It is also wise to consider good, well made tires from abroad. The long haul trucking industry does not shy away from tires made in Korea or Japan or those made under license in China. Michelin and Goodyear both manufacture tires in China.

In answer to your original question, I am currently running Hankook's albeit 19.5's. I prefer their characteristics to the Goodyears that came on the coach but that is personal preference.

Rocky2,

Are you rinning them on all axles? I'm curious about the steer tires more so than the drive. We have a tag that allows the weight distribution to spread over 6 tires. Not so with the steer.

Just replaced the front tires. I only had 38,000 miles on the Goodyears and just got tired of the way they handled. While you did not ask prices, the Hankooks were $500 out the door for the two I put on the front. Sumitomos were about the same. Michelins and Goodyears were both significantly more expensive.

Rocky2,

That's what I found and thus the inquiry. As long as the safety factor does not trump the price. I'd really like to hear from others that are using Hankook tires.
