Keeping cold water pipes from freezing

Regarding the heating questions, as suggested the LP gas furnace will keep the water tanks and pipes from freezing assuming you use the rear furnace in two furnace applications. If you have only one furnace that will work but the thermostat must be set at 50 degrees or more.

Also not mentioned, I highly suggest if you are on city water, always open the cold water facet at a sink inside to get a steady flow running. Several folks spend money on electrically heated fresh water hoses BUT if no water is flowing from your inside water facet, the outside city facet will freezes up at the hand valve and renders the heater hose useless.

Diesel engines and fuel don't like cold weather. Next time you are in a cold climate truck stop look for semi trucks with covers in front of the radiator. Most of the covers are adjustable like a zippered jacket...Diesel pushers are less susceptible to this but cold is cold. You might ask around and see if there is a solution to partially cover your radiator / air intake. On our diesel the fan clutch controls this by engaging/disengaging the fan based on engine temp.

Good Luck and DON'T STAY HOME Ha Ha. Enjoy your experience!
