I own a 2006 fleetwood tioga 31M with gas heat only. The thermostat is an RV Comfort HP with a setting for electric heat. Would this mean that an electric heat strip could be installed?

Probably, but there may or may not be heater control wiring to the ceiling unit. You need to contact RVP about your model of a/c unit and see if it is upgradeable and what is required.
