Heater Core

Has anyone ever changed the heater core on their Fleetwood Coronado?

I have a 1994 30 foot with P-30 Chevy chassis and 454.
The heater core has been leaking for the last 2 years.
I have been by-passing it in the summer.

I have looked at changing it a couple of times.
It looks really hard to do? I hope I am wrong and someone will tell me that they done it and it is easy to do.

We do some winter traveling and I need to get it repaired.

I thought about using some kind of stop leak but I hate to put that stuff in my engine? Maybe the newer stop leak is better and safer to use?

Any comments?

Ok, I have a plan that may keep me from having to take out the heater core.

I am going to disconnect the heater core hoses from the engine. Then I will put some stop leak in the heater core only, it will not get to my engine block this way. I will pour boiling water into the hose to activate the stop leak. I will let this sit over night and then rinse it out good.

What do you think?
Who makes a good stop leak?

Will only work if you keep pressure on the heater core and water with stop leak circulating to force it to and thru the leak .
