Our brand new Discovery is making a beeping noise intermittently while driving. It happens mainly when we make sharp right turns. However, this past weekend we were in the Texas Hill Country and it was beeping on inclines. It gives anywhere between 3 and 7 beeps. The noise is coming from the electronics panel as you enter the coach. Is there some kind of inclinometer warning built into the leveling system? Anyone heard of this or had it happen to them?

It is possible that the hyd. fluid in the resevoir for the leveling system is a little low. Have you called the dealer yet?

Or the water level in the radiator surge tank. Do you notice a indicator light on the dash when this happens, perhaps Check Engine? I think you have a Freightliner chassis under neath, and any warning beep is likely to come from the chassis rather than a Fleetwood installed body part. There are a couple possible warnings from the engine controller, and Low Coolant is a common one in the situations you describe. There is a sensor in the tank and if the coolant level is marginal, it sets the alarm off on hills or corners when the water sloshes in the tank.

And no, there is no inclinometer.

Its definitely the Freightliner chassis. All the fluids are checked before each trip and topped of it necessary. As well, the check engine light isn't going off when the beeps are occurring. I have a call into the dealership hopefully they can shed some light on what it is.

No TPMS but we do have a Brakemaster supplemental brake system.

Not sure if it's the same issue you're seeing but I get this all the time from the sensor for the alarm for the antenna being up. I think there's a bit of play in the antenna so when we go over bumps or take sharper corners, it moves a bit and sets off the alarm. If real easy to test if that's the sound you are hearing, just raise your antenna, start your motorhome and put it in gear.

I only discovered that was the problem on our last trip so haven't actually tried to fix it yet so I have no idea what that would entail.

Well it appears that the beep is associated with my power gear levelers. We were leaving a state park yesterday and as we were driving off the beep started. I stopped and the beep continued, so I started investigating and found out it was coming from the power gear panel. All the lights were flashing and it was beeping. That went on for a couple of minutes and then stopped. On the way home it continued to beep intermittently. There was no rhyme or reason with the number of beeps, anywhere between 3 and 12 beeps, So, I'm assuming a sensor is off or there is short somewhere.

Have you found the resevoir for it? The level is probably a little low- everytime you make a sharp turn or go up/down hills, it will go off.

This sounds EXACTLY like mine when the hydraulic fluid is too low, so I would say that this is definitely the reason for your coach playing playing "unwanted music".

Be sure that you measure and refill hydraulic fluid with the jacks all the way in. Otherwise you will end up adding too much fluid. Also - do check your manual to ensure that the correct type fluid is added.

I will add my voice to the power gear leveler fluid level chorus.

The instructions: First, find the blanged thing, and note the recommended fluid, obtain a quart (Mine is Dextron III, yours may be different, it's whatever it was filled with at the factory)

Then remove the screw from the end of the tank, enar teh top (if there is one)

Now remove the filler cap and fill till fluid "Weeps" (Drips) from the screw hole.

Replace screw

Replace filler cap

Remove filler cap

Using a Vibrating marking tool (like you use to etch your driver's license number into your boom box) or a Dremel etch a line where the fluid is on the dip stick (if any) Wipe off.

now set the filler cap on (do not screw down) remove and mark a second line.

you can "label" the lines if you wish.

Replace filler cap.

now you have a calibrated dip stick for the next time and done need to screw with, well.. the screw in the weep hole (much easier)
