Hose under dash
2014 35k Bounder
I have a black corrugated hose that hangs down from under the dash on the passenger side. It is about 2" or so in diameter. I think that it should be attached to a heating or air conditioning vent. The dealer said no it provides hot air to the passenger. Does anyone else have this?
We are getting ready to leave on our first long trip. I have pushed it back up under the dash.

Not sure, but it might be there to heat/cool passenger side feet? In any case tucking it up out of the way not doing any good. At the very least close it off by stuffing a rag or something in it to force the air out other ducts. No point shooting it up under the dash...

Some coaches are made that way so that air from the heater will go to the passengers feet.

So the hose is loose and not connected to a vent? That isn't right. Even if it "provides hot air to the passenger" it should be connected someplace.

I was service manager for fifteen years for a Fleetwood dealer. I never saw a Fleetwood product with a loose hose on the passenger side. there were a few manufacturers that did that on the drivers side, but I never saw one on the passenger side. On most Fleetwood products you will find a round plastic outlet near the floor that opens and closes for that purpose. Tell that lazy A$$ service manager to have someone reattach the hose to the heater plenum.

Before you start in with the dealer, go out at dusk or dark and shine a flashlight into all the vent outlets. If there is a hose attached to every one, then talk into the hose and listen at the vents or feed a small piece of pipe into the hose and see where it comes out. The hose either came loose from the plenum or loose from the ac outlet.

We have a 2012 35K and have the same hose. Ours appears to be 3 inches, Black and is directly below the Computer drawer on the passenger side. There is no cover that closes or opens either.
My opinion is that it is sending warm air from the engine and not connected to any heating or cooling source. I am unable to trace it's origin.
It must be there for a reason.
It has not come loose from something.
Does Fleetwood monitor these posts ??...If so, maybe a quick answer directly to the post would set us all straight.

Just got off of the phone with Fleetwood. The rep indicated that the design was, for the hose to be unattached to a louver for a 2014 35K bounder. It was intended to provide air to the passenger side. They suggested that I use Velcro or zip tie to hid it.
For a $145,000.00 coach this seems, to me, to be a bad design.
I still love the coach and like talking to Fleetwood. Always seem to get to a rep very quickly.

If you don't want to try to attach it to the louvered outlet yourself, I'd think the dealer would do it under warranty.
Good to know QC is still not happening at FW. At least it wasn't a water supply line that wasn't properly connected, like on ours. Flooded a bay before we figured out where it was coming from.

Jim, welcome to the forum. Why not try this............crank the engine and turn on the heat with the fan on high to see what happens. Just saying.

We have the same hose on our '99 Damon Chevy chassis...I'll bet it's because of the aftermarket heating/cooling system.

I'm trying to figure out where this mystery hose is. Here's the only pic I have of the passenger foot well in our Bounder, and I don't see any hose. Is that rectangular vented thing a heater vent? I usually have a foot stool down there and haven't paid much attention to it.

When the heater/AC is set to "recirculate" or maybe max, it will be pulling it's intake air through that rectangular grille.
