How do we change light bulb on ext. mirror

Hi,

My passenger side mirror light is not working. I don't know how to remove it. Thre is no screw. I don't believe I should remove the whole mirror.

The mirror arm is a one piece.

Anybody as an idea? I am afraid of breaking the light if I use a screw to pop it out.

Thanks in advance

Ok I found it on the Internet. We pop it out from the top or the bottom with a small screwdriver. Mine is not working but the light is good.

Did you use a test light to check the wiring? Are you checking it as if it were a marker light or turn signal light?

Well I don't understand at all what you say.

I tested with my voltmeter the two wires and I get no voltage. I tested the ground with the ohmmeter and one of the wire is the ground.

But then I made some other tests on a working side lamp and I got strange results. Both wires give me a ground when the switch is off.

It is raining on my head so I stopped and I scratch my head since I don't understand how I could have two grounds unless some lamps are serial connected!

I will need to test the other mirror light tomorrow. This one is working and I will interchange it with the other mirror to see what is ok and what is not.

Thank you for answering.

I went under the rain and I see that the working side mirror can light as a "marker" and also can be turn signal. So I suppose there is some kind of electronic behind this.

Ok it is working now. I cleaned the contacts and use dielectric grease.
