Hi

I fixed the Expedition slide out problem by following some of the helpful suggestions from this excellent site. Thanks to all and if I can tap you again on a different problem.

The warning buzzer and down indicators on the hydaulic levelers have taken to comming on sometimes when the vehicle is in motion. Seems to be happening more frequently. 2005 37u Expedition. I'm not sure where I should start to isolate the problem. I know there may be several points which could cause this but just wondered where best to start.

Bob

Hi,
It might just be dirt on the pistons.... I have been chatting with others about this. If you have a
manual you should check it. Mine said to clean them with WD40. Another said use only silicone. I have decided to clean mine with dextron III. That is what is on the other side of the seals so it should not hurt them. Another problem is weak springs which can be replaced.
Does yours have springs? Some units are hydrolic both ways...

If you have power gear jacks. You have low fluid in the tank. Power gear has a low fluid indicator for jacks down. Add fluid to the tank and you will be O.K.

Yep! Fluid is low on your Power Gear Jacks as ga traveler said.
Only add fluid with jacks up.

When the Jacks down Light/Alarm comes on. I bet if you look at all the Jacks they will be all up and non down.

The levelers were by Power Gear. They recommend Dexron111 and lithium grease on the grease nipples. Unit is easily accessed in rear cargo bin.

Thanks for the expert suggestions.
